Why this library exists
About Lumen Library
Our purpose
Lumen Library exists so that anyone, anywhere, can meet the great public-domain teachers of the inner life—without noise, without a sales funnel, and without pretending to be a guru or a clinician. We make the works available. You do the reading, the watching, and the quiet work of understanding.
Why public-domain classics
These books have already stood the test of time. They speak of thought, character, the subconscious, and the way a human being helps to shape their own reality—not as slogans, but as patient invitations to look within. Because they are in the public domain, we can share them freely and translate them carefully from the original English.
Faith and openness
The project is deeply Christian in conviction—rooted in humility, conscience, and the dignity of every person—yet it does not close its doors. Secular readers and people of other faiths are welcome. We do not argue; we offer the texts and the space to meet them.
Translations, made with care
Where a language needs a fresh, faithful rendering, we translate from the English originals ourselves. We prefer clarity over flourish, and we never claim medical or psychological treatment. The library is for learning and reflection, at your pace.
What we are not
We are not a self-help brand, not a clinic, and not a promise of riches or cures. We differ from much of that world by simply placing the works before you—self-guided, self-paced, and free of hype.
